How It Works
How does hiring a personal chef work? Here’s the breakdown:
Personal Chef Service
Free Initial Consultation
The first step in working with me is a free 30-45 minute interview that takes place in your own home. This is a time to talk about your culinary and dietary needs and discuss how my personal chef services can meet those needs. If we are a good match, we will set up a date for a trial cooking session at a discounted rate.
Planning
I develop recipes and menus customized to your specific diet in between each cooking session. If desired I will email menus to be approved beforehand. Usually as a client and I get to know each other’s styles and preferences this is no longer necessary.
Shopping
Depending on the season, on the days I cook for you I shop at both natural food stores and the Boulder Farmers’ Market to ensure my clients eat the freshest, highest quality ingredients.
Cooking
I do the cooking for all of my clients in their own homes. Clients’ needs vary, and how often I cook in your home and how many meals I cook at a time is based on those needs. All meals are packaged, labeled, and stored in your refrigerator or freezer. The kitchen is always left sparkling clean.
Pricing
Pricing depends on how many meals composed of entrees and sides I am cooking for how many people. We will discuss the pricing at the initial consultation when we determine what your needs are. Usually we determine a set number of hours I need to complete your meals and base a fixed fee for my labor on that number which is paid in addition to the cost of the groceries.
